GMO Free

We avoid Genetically Modified Organisms by feeding only certified Organic feed to our animals. The Organic certification requirements strictly prohibit the use of GMO seed and inputs used in the production of crops.

Certified Organic Feed

The Organic animal feed that we use is made by a local farm we work closely with to ensure all the ingredients are as local, nutritious, and sustainable as we possibly can. Most of the ingredients are grown right here in Armstrong.

Pasture Raised

Our pasture raised animals spend their whole lives outdoors, with the exception of chickens who start off in the warm brooder barn and then are transferred to pasture once they’re old enough.  Baby calves and piglets are born outdoors and spend their days grazing and pasturing any time the weather permits. We only produce chicken and turkey when there’s green pasture for them and the weather is warm enough to spend their time outside.

Grass fed and finished

All of our beef is finished on grass and legume forage that we grow on the farm. Instead of feeding grain to fatten them up, we give them the best, lush grass for the last few months. Grass finished beef is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. Full of omega 3 and free of many of the contaminants that come with industrial grain. A little bit of our beef goes a long way.

Transitional Organic

We’re currently in the transition period between conventional and certified Organic on both our farms. Because we have not used any prohibited sprays or inputs for as long as we can remember, this transition period will be as short as possible. We expect to receive our full Organic certification some time in the summer of 2020.
