Smoked pork cheek is a close substitute to bacon, with plenty of fat, flavourful meat, and the skin-on (potentially amazing crackling!)

Smoked pork cheek takes a little more effort: we have found that our favourite method is to roast it in the oven before to render off a lot of the fat. The roasted chunk can be sliced and added to anything for a little flavour boost, and then the leftovers are delightful just quickly heated in a frying pan.
